The Scythe is a melee weapon that is added to the game when a user purchases the first community Weapon Pack DLC. The Scythe serves as a sidegrade to the Claymore: the Scythe is slightly stronger and cheaper than the Claymore but is a bit slower and has a slightly smaller range. The secondary attack swings in such a wide arc that it hits anything within range across the entire Field of View, making the Scythe an excellent melee weapon to use for crowd control. However, the Scythe is the slowest melee weapon available, making timing important in its use. == Statistics == The Berserker perk gets bonuses and a discounts for the . === Damage === The Scythe has the largest amount of damage in one hit in both primary and alternate fire, surpassing the Dwarfs!? axe. With a max base damage of 330-660 in a single hit, a Level 6 Berserker can take down a Fleshpound in four primary headshots and a Scrake in three alt-fire headshots when soloing at 1-player health specimen at highest difficulty. In a 6 player Hell on Earth game, a Scrake will take 3-4 alt fire headshots while Fleshpounds can endure up to 9 primary attacks considering they haven't enraged by an alt-fire somewhere and kited perfectly. For Hell on Earth, any kind of alt-fire headshots will enrage Fleshpound right away so they should be dealt with primary attacks mainly until you want to enrage and finish the specimen on your terms. For Scrakes, only alt-fire headshots will stun them while primary headshots will cause them to flinch longer (if they haven't stunned by bullets or melee yet) but after landing three alt-fire blows to head, you'll be free to finish the Scrake with a primary headshot which is slightly quicker. Scythe have enough potential to 4 shot a Fleshpound if alternative swing landed on its head from behind and decapitate Scrakes in two swift headshots from behind via alt-fire. On paper, backstabs will be a swifter way to deal with those specimen but positioning for Scrakes as you have to commit into it as trash specimen will swarm you and Fleshpounds enraging right away to turn their face to you after your second or third hit will make things harder. The Scythe has a headshot multiplier of 1.25x and default backstab multiplier of 2.0x, making its overall damage output very high despite its slow attack speed. If you can get used to the delay, the Scythe can be the most powerful weapon in your arsenal. <br style="clear: both" /> ==Advantages & Disadvantages== ===Advantages=== *Reliably decapitates lesser specimens; *Wide reach; *Alt-fire can stun Husks, regardless of attack location; *Powerful; *Cheaper than the Claymore. *Capable of killing multiple weak specimens in one swing; *People with the DLC can buy it for people without the DLC; *Higher single hit damage than Claymore. ===Disadvantages=== *More expensive than the Katana; *Slower than the Claymore; *Moderately heavy, at 6 blocks; *Alt fire enrages Fleshpounds making hitting them more difficult. *Alt fire has a potentially lower DPS. *The extra damage compared to the Claymore is usually overkill against weaker specimens *Slow speed makes zed time chains nearly impossible *Weapon requires DLC ==See also== * Community Weapon Pack Weapons Language bar
